Awesome heavy gauge lithographed tinplate Red Cross Ambulance by GAMA, U.S. Zone, Germany. High grade early post-WWII vehicle comes with its original injured man on stretcher! Plus it comes with its original box!

Unusual (for the U.S.) Red Cross Ambulance powered by rear friction drive motor. Features a rear operating swing-open hinged door complete occupant. In this case it's the original hand painted composition bandaged injured man tied with elastic to the original metal stretcher. The inside of the Ambulance is fitted with an inclined plane. The stretcher fits easily over the incline so that when you open the door it's soon-to-be hospitalized rider slides right out. Neat!

The truck is all heavy gauge tinplate, lithoed pale yellow, and with Red Cross emblems on both doors. The chassis is black, as are the rear running boards, fenders, front bumper, and tail gate. It has a beautiful chrome plated and embossed front grille assembly which incorporates the GAMA logo into the center. The tires are knobby style, solid black rubber, with polished metal centers.

The two piece box features an accurate illustrated print of the Ambulance on the cover with business-types on either sidewalk. It has all 12 of its original 90° right angle corner staples in place.

Both the truck and box are marked "Made in U.S. Zone-Germany".
